At HeartBar Cattle Co. (Batteate Beef) we strive to be stewards of the land and show compassion to every animal we raise.  We utilize low-stress handling methods that help ensure a higher quality of life for our cattle herd, and your beef.  Our family believes in unlocking the potential nature has to offer, by providing natural, non-hormone treated beef to families and individuals in and around the East Bay Area, CA. 

 

        Our cattle graze in the Tri Valley Region, just north of Dublin & Livermore.  Our history in the agricultural community here in the Bay Area started in Hayward, CA in the early 1940’s. We are extremely committed to the future of Agriculture, and participating in our industry in a way that brings about positive changes, for the producers & the consumers. Our entire family participates & loves our cow herd.  Our boys, 4 & 6 years old, enjoy going out with us every day to feed and check on the cattle. Our compassion and commitment to sustainability runs as deeply as our Bay Area roots, and we are proud to be part of the 2% of Americans who work to feed the world.

 

        Our commitment is to ensure that we graze responsibly and help maintain the natural ecosystems of the land that we graze.  Operating a cattle business on public lands means maintaining our relationships with local organizations & meeting their ecological requirements.  Grazing these lands means protecting our communities from wildfires, while improving the environment for the wild animal and plant life in our area. We are Beef Quality Assurance certified, & our cattle are all free range (even when they are being finished!), never in a confined space.
